College Football Weekend Recap

We'll have more on the Ohio State game later. But first, we bring you a look around the rest of the nation.

Florida, Wisconsin, and Penn State were all overrated

I've been saying that about all three of these teams all along. In Florida's defense, they did make a lot of self-inflicted mistakes. They still have a pretty good chance to get another shot at Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. Wisconsin couldn't beat Michigan State, and so they have little hope of competing in the Big Ten this year. They still get to play Ohio State at home, at night, and that could be interesting. But I think the Badgers are headed for a 9-3 season at best. Penn State is just bad. They really are not a good team and I don't understand why they are ranked so well every year coming into the season. When was the last time they won an important regular season game?

Denard Robinson is the truth

Forget what I said before, it is going to be really hard to keep this guy from getting the Heisman. He is on a mediocre team with a horrible defense, so he is going to lose a few of these shootouts eventually. But he is absolutely electrifying. Not since Michael Vick has there been a college player that was this exciting to watch. In five games, he has already rushed for 905 yards.

Oregon second best?

Voters in both major polls have moved the Ducks ahead of Boise State, into the number three spot. Many of the voters also put Oregon ahead of Ohio State, although the Buckeyes remained number two in both polls. Oregon's offense proved once again to be the best in the land as they came from behind to beat Stanford. They still have a lot of tough games ahead of them, but they have a good argument already to be ahead of the Buckeyes, even though they lost to them in the Rose Bowl last season.
